Article: Open Hearts

There are times when I find heart-to-heart talks easier to come by; when you’re lying in each other’s arms, over late night phone calls, getting lost driving in an unfamiliar place, or even over a good meal at a restaurant. With most people, they lead to awkward silences, but with those special few, a moment comes up; a moment of silence and peace that lets you feel a strange sense of freedom, like you can finally reveal your past and will not have your flaws judged but accepted by that person by your side. Whether you’re a loving couple, or simply good friends, perhaps just family, you suddenly decide that the past is not something worth hiding, but that it is to be shared with those who care about you. Of course, there will always be times when such moments lead to pain and confrontation; when you’ve chosen the wrong time or the wrong person to confide in.
